Welcome to our sight word page!
We will be using the Mioow Magic Words Program. This program is made up o different coloured lists that make up the 220 most commonly used and read words in order of frequency.
Your child will be tested at school on a regular basis. The words must be recognised and said as soon as they are seen.

Here are some ideas to help practice sight words at home:

• Play dough – make words using play dough. Search for words in books, posters, newspapers, signs etc.
• Concentration – sight word concentration cards can be easily made using cards
• Wordo – just like bingo using sight words
• Magnetic Letters – using a metal surface like fridge, dishwasher or making tray, call out sight words and ask the child to use the magnetic letters to spell the word
• Word Search – create word searches using the sight words
• Snap – sight word snap
• Online sight word games including:

  Memory Game
  Word Reader
